Connecting your financial institution

ASA Vault connects to over 10,000 financial institutions so your account balances update automatically.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. From the dashboard, tap Add Account.
  2. Select Link Accounts (updated automatically).
  3. Search for your financial institution using the search bar. You can search by institution name.
  4. Select your institution from the results.
  5. You will be connected securely through Fingoal or MX. A disclaimer will explain: "In order to connect your banking account(s) with ASA, you must connect them through Fingoal/MX."
  6. Follow the prompts to sign in to your financial provider and authorize the connection.
  7. Select which accounts you want to link.
  8. Once connected, your accounts will begin syncing. You will see a confirmation screen.

Account verification

Some accounts may require additional verification:

  • Automatic verification — Your account is verified instantly through the connection.
  • Manual verification — You may need to enter your account number and routing number to confirm.
  • OTP/PIN verification — A PIN will be sent to your registered contact. Enter it to verify.

Account statuses

After linking, your account may show one of these statuses:

  • Active — Account is connected and syncing normally.
  • Pending — Account connection is being processed.
  • Synchronizing — Account data is being updated.
  • Reauthenticate — You need to reconnect. Tap the account to re-enter your bank credentials.
  • Inactive — Account is not currently syncing.

Security note: ASA Vault uses Fingoal and MX, which both meet SOC 2 compliance standards, to securely connect to your bank, credit union, mortgage, investment, or any other financial provider. Your login credentials are never stored by ASA Vault, Fingoal or MX.
